Really Need the multifaceted categories that were in SP2007 -- what a bone headed move to leav it out.

For a large organization, it's nearly impossible to maintain the site linkages... The problem with the old Site Directory was that there was darn little information on how to customize it for an enterprise's particular needs... If the OOB categories or values didn't match your needs, most folks never took the effort to find out where the columns and values were defined....

Hi,

Thanks for your comment. The idea of basing the directory on a standard list was that you can add your own metadata field as part of your implementation, this could easily include categories, MMSA fields.

Please also be aware that this is not a finished product like SharePoint itself, but a side-project by a small group of individuals, so there will be features that are missing, bugs etc

Also, this is an open source project so if you feel you want to add functionality that will benefit eth wider community, please go ahead and do so.

Also, I would add that the best way to achieve the same kind of functionality of SP2007 categories is by using Keywords.

To enable this, simple add enterprise keywords to the Site Listings list.

The boneheaded comment was directed at the SharePoint Dev Team... Are you adding additional developers to the project or just followers.
