Which solution to use from SiteDirectory Source Code

Feb 16, 2012 at 9:01 AM

I have downloaded the code, wanted to customize the code as per our company requirements, but i am confused with 2 folders and not knowing which one to use for customization. for example if i download the code and extract the zip file and save it in C Drive i see a solution in "C:\spsitedirectory2010-62967\SPSiteDirectory2010" and almost the same kind of solution in "C:\spsitedirectory2010-62967\Microsoft.MCSUK.SPSiteDirectory2010\SPSiteDirectory2010" in "C:\spsitedirectory2010-62967\SPSiteDirectory2010"  we see "SiteListingDefinition" folder as an additional one.
If i open the solution from "C:\spsitedirectory2010-62967\SPSiteDirectory2010" and deploy it, i am not able to see "Site Directory 2010" options in "Central Admin -> General Application Settings" to configure site directory and scan jobs
but if i open the solution from "C:\spsitedirectory2010-62967\Microsoft.MCSUK.SPSiteDirectory2010\SPSiteDirectory2010" and deploy it i am able to see "Site Directory 2010" options in "Central Admin -> General Application Settings" and able to to configure site directory and scan jobs.

Request you please let me know which solution has to be used, i must be able to add new columns to "Site Listings" list for customization

You should use the 'Site Directory 2010' interfaces in central admin.

The 'site directory' ones are for backwards compatibility with SharePoint 2007 and are part of SharePoint itself.

Hi Martin,

I face the similar thing that I have to customise the "site directory" to meet my company's requirement.

I have downloaded the source code and don't know which solution should be used. Let me know as soon as possible.

Best Regards

Thanks.
